Please read this before submitting a report, using Location Alerts, or logging in as an admin or moderator.
By submitting a report, uploading content, reporting an issue, using Location Alerts, enabling phone alerts, logging in as an admin or moderator, or continuing to use this platform, you confirm that you have read these Terms of Use, understand them, and agree to follow them.
You agree that anything you submit is, to the best of your knowledge, accurate and not false, misleading, exaggerated or intentionally deceptive.
You must not submit reports that are fabricated, malicious, designed to cause panic, or intended to damage another person's reputation.
Do not name any person or include details that could reasonably identify someone.
This includes names, nicknames, private addresses, vehicle registration numbers, workplace details, school details, social media profiles, or descriptions that clearly identify a person.
Do not upload photos showing identifiable people, including alleged offenders, victims, bystanders, children, or private individuals.
Photos should be limited to property damage, general scenes, or non-identifiable evidence relevant to the report.
You must not use this platform to harass, threaten, shame, target, discriminate against, encourage retaliation against, or spread rumours about any person or group.
You must not submit vigilante language, racial abuse, discriminatory descriptions, graphic content, or content intended to inflame the community.
Reports, descriptions, photos, videos and issue reports may be reviewed, edited, withheld, rejected or removed without notice.
Content that breaches these terms may not be published. If you believe a report is incorrect, misleading, identifies you, or should not be published, you can use the existing report/review function on the event or contact the site operator.
This is a community reporting platform. Information shown may be incomplete, delayed, approximate, incorrect, unverified, or later removed.
Information on this platform should not be treated as official police, emergency, legal, government or safety information.
This platform is not for emergencies. If immediate help is required, contact Police, Emergency Services, or the appropriate authority directly.
Location alerts, saved address alerts and phone notifications are provided as a free community feature only. They may not work on every device, browser or phone.
Saved alert locations may use exact addresses or phone GPS coordinates so the app can check whether approved reports are within your selected radius. Public incident reports remain approximate for privacy, but saved alert locations are private settings for your device/browser.
Alerts may be delayed, blocked by phone settings, affected by poor reception, fail because of browser restrictions, or fail if the site has not been correctly added to the Home Screen on some phones.
You must not rely on this platform, Location Alerts, or phone notifications for personal safety, emergency warnings, police response, or time-critical information.
When you use this platform, we may collect and store information needed to operate, moderate and protect the service.
This may include submitted reports, descriptions, approximate report locations, photos or videos you upload, report dates and times, issue reports, moderation history, admin actions, IP address, browser details, device/browser identifiers, saved alert addresses, phone/browser push notification subscription details, and general website usage data.
This information is collected to operate the platform, publish community safety reports, moderate reports and photos, reduce spam and abuse, detect repeat misuse, investigate false or malicious reports, protect people from being unfairly identified or targeted, maintain audit records, improve the platform, and respond to safety, legal or law enforcement issues where appropriate.
Technical information such as IP address, browser details and device/browser identifiers may be used to identify patterns of misuse, block abuse, protect the website, and assist with serious safety or legal issues.
Public incident reports use approximate locations for privacy. Exact saved alert addresses and phone GPS coordinates are not shown publicly.
Admin-only metadata, including IP address, browser details, device/browser identifiers and saved alert information, is restricted to authorised administrators. Moderators may only access information needed to review content.
Information may be kept for moderation, audit, safety, legal, security and operational reasons.
We aim to avoid keeping more personal information than reasonably needed, but some information may be retained to identify abuse patterns, investigate complaints, maintain records, and protect the platform.
If there is a suspected data breach, the site operator may disable affected accounts or features, change passwords, review logs, check what information may have been accessed, restore from backup if needed, and notify affected people or authorities where required.
Admins and moderators must use the platform responsibly, keep private information confidential, and only use admin or moderator access for legitimate moderation and safety purposes.
Unless otherwise stated, the website design, written content, structure and platform materials are protected by copyright.
